Experience

As a clinician my experience spans hospital, community, corporate and social service settings. Through community, private practice and corporate settings, I have worked one-on-one, in groups, with families and couples experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, substance overuse and gender-based violence. My training and experiences have also given me the capacity to work with diverse communities (e.g. BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ communities) on issues related to immigration and resettlement, racism, discrimination, legal disputes, violence, torture, and chronic conditions and illnesses.

Approach

My approach incorporates the awareness of inter-generational patterns and considers systems such as families, societies and cultures which impact our psychological development, worldview and well-being. You are a dynamic and complex individual. Should you determine that I am a good fit to support your therapeutic goals, I will “walk beside you,” exploring the avenues that have impacted your journey. Our work will focus on learning and building on the experiences that have shaped you and those that will lead to best outcomes ahead.

Trust and connection are essential to every therapeutic journey. Drawing from person-centred, experiential, culturally-focused, trauma-aware and feminist models I will work with you to seek deeper understanding. Using emotion-focused, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and mindfulness practices I will tailor your therapy to your unique values and goals.
