Experience
I have worked for several years serving individuals and families in their communities and hospital settings. It was through my work as a registered nurse that I connected my passion with my purpose to help people experiencing stress, anxiety or depression due to their own or loved ones short or long term illnesses. Through this work I have gained knowledge and experience working with people who may face challenges in making adjustments in their personal lives or work lives following an illness or injury; adult caregivers trying to reduce stress and improve their lives and the lives of those they care for; supporting individuals to take care of their health conditions and manage emotional changes; people preparing for and coping with loss and grief and individuals seeking ways to integrate life experiences with their faith and spirituality in their journey to wholeness. I am knowledgeable in working with newcomers to Canada and navigating the stress that comes with resettlement and integrating into a new culture.
Approach
My approach to working with clients is grounded in the belief that each person going through challenging and distressing events has a unique way of working through their difficulty. I want to work with you instilling hope in your ability to learn about yourself and what matters to you during distressing times so that you can increase your confidence in working through the challenges and in making changes in your life. We will therefore work together using approaches that best fit your concerns, your experiences and your values. These approaches may integrate a variety of therapeutic orientations with your own traditional or indigenous practices and ways of healing. It would be an honor to accompany you as grow, change or heal.
