My goal as your therapist is to create a genuine, empathetic relationship between you and I, through which healing and change can take place. I bring an open curiosity to your experiences and, working together, we can uncover and navigate the internal and external obstacles you face.
The approach I take is an integrative one and I draw upon person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, solution-focused, and mindfulness techniques. I also see individuals as embedded in broader social environments that shape how we think, feel, and behave. This perspective considers how social context may be implicated in psychological and interpersonal problems. At the same time, I appreciate that no two individuals have the same set of experiences and will work with you to create the kind of therapy experience that works best for you.
I have experience with youth and adults experiencing crisis and navigating an array of concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, abuse, grief, and suicidality. I also have an academic background in critical sociology and am passionate about offering a safe space for BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ folks.
